Seven days, fifty messages: how long mail stays here
October 12, 2026 · 2 min read
Temporary email should be temporary, but not so temporary that a code vanishes before you read it. Here are the exact rules this site follows.
The two limits
- Seven days. Each message is kept for seven days after it arrives. After that it disappears from the inbox right away and is removed from storage by a cleanup job that runs every hour.
- Fifty per address. Each address keeps its newest 50 messages. When the 51st arrives, the oldest one for that address is removed. Other addresses are not affected.
What is never stored
- Attachments. We keep the sender, subject, plain text and HTML, not attached files.
- Very large messages. Mail of roughly 2 MB and up is turned away.
- Passwords or accounts. There are none. The page simply remembers in your own browser which address you used last.
Things we cannot do
- We do not restore deleted messages on request.
- We cannot make an inbox private. Anyone who enters the same address can read it.
- We do not send or forward mail. The service only receives.
The full details are in the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
